Scheduling and Booking

Q: How do I book your services?

A: It's easy! Simply contact me by phone or email to discuss your pet care needs. I'll then schedule a complimentary meet-and-greet to get to know you and your pets.

Q: How far in advance should I book?

A: To ensure my availability, especially during peak times like summer and winter holidays, I recommend booking 1-2 months in advance. For all other times, 2-4 weeks notice is usually best.

Q: How much time is recommended for my booking?

A: The recommended visit time will depend on several factors, including:

  • The specific needs of your pet(s): Each pet is unique!

  • How many pets you have: More pets often mean more time is needed.

  • Length of dog walks: Do your dogs enjoy longer strolls?

  • Extra companionship time: Do you want me to spend extra time playing or cuddling with your pets?

As a general guideline:

  • For cats, a 30-minute visit daily is usually sufficient.

  • For dogs, I generally recommend a 45-minute visit, twice a day, to ensure they get adequate potty breaks, exercise, and companionship.

We can discuss the ideal visit length during our initial consultation to create a plan that best suits your pets.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?

A: I understand that plans can change! My cancellation policy is as follows:

  • 5 days or more notice: No charge.

  • 2-4 days notice: 50% of the service fee will be charged.

  • Less than 24 hours notice: 100% of the service fee will be charged.

Q: Are you insured and bonded?

A: Yes, Manteca Critter Sitters is fully insured and bonded for your peace of mind.

Q: How do you handle emergencies?

A: In the event of a pet emergency, I will immediately attempt to contact you. If I cannot reach you, I will transport your pet to your designated veterinarian or the nearest emergency animal hospital. Your pet's safety and well-being are my top priority.

Q: My dog is very anxious. How do you handle nervous pets?

A: I understand that some pets, especially dogs, can be anxious when their owners are away or around new people. I specialize in working with anxious dogs by:

  • Moving slowly and patiently: I let your dog set the pace during my initial meet-and-greet and subsequent visits.

  • Using positive reinforcement: Treats, gentle praise, and calm voices help build trust.

  • Respecting their space: I won't force interaction and will give them time to adjust to my presence.

  • Maintaining routine: Sticking to their usual feeding, walking, and playtime schedule provides comfort and predictability.

  • Observing their body language: I pay close attention to signs of stress and adjust my approach accordingly.

  • Keeping you updated: I'll provide regular updates on how your anxious pet is doing, including any progress in their comfort level.

My goal is to create a calm and reassuring environment so your anxious dog can feel safe and loved while you're away.
